丁香（学名：Syzygium aromaticum，英文名：Clove）是原产于印度尼西亚的一种香料，又指丁香属植物树上的花蕾，又名丁子香，干燥后广泛用于烹饪中，做为一种食物香料，现在已经被引种到世界各地的热带地区，目前出产丁香的地区主要有印度尼西亚、桑给巴尔和马达加斯加岛，印度、巴基斯坦和斯里兰卡也出产丁香，2005年，印度尼西亚生产的丁香约占世界总产量的80%。

丁香树是一种常绿乔木，高达10至20米，叶椭圆形，单叶大，对生，革质；花为红色，聚伞花序，花蕾初起白色，后转为绿色，当长到1.5至2厘米长时转为红色，这时就可以收获，萼托长，花萼和花瓣4；果实为长椭圆形，名为母丁香。

别名：紫丁香、华北紫丁香
原产地：中国东北、华北及西北，朝鲜也有分布

Cloves are the aromatic dried flower buds of a tree in the family Myrtaceae, Syzygium aromaticum. Cloves are native to the Maluku islands in Indonesia and used as a spice in cuisines all over the world. Cloves are harvested primarily in Indonesia, India, Madagascar, Zanzibar, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. They have a numbing effect on mouth tissues.

The clove tree is an evergreen that grows to a height ranging from 8–12 m, having large leaves and sanguine flowers in numerous groups of terminal clusters. The flower buds are at first of a pale color and gradually become green, after which they develop into a bright red, when they are ready for collecting. Cloves are harvested when 1.5–2 cm long, and consist of a long calyx, terminating in four spreading sepals, and four unopened petals which form a small ball in the center.

Well, I feel pretty connected to this flower because we have the same initials in pinyin - DXH - and the song. After learning more about it, I fell in love with clove and its lilac color. I can't actually remember when or whether I've seen its plant or flower, but I'm sure I won't miss it in the future.

凤仙花（学名：Impatiens balsamina），又名指甲花、急性子、凤仙透骨草，是凤仙花科凤仙花属的植物。

一年生草本。披针形的叶子互生，长约10厘米，顶端渐尖，边缘有锐齿，基部楔形；叶柄附近有几对腺体。

花期为6-8月，花二三朵同生叶腋，不整齐，花萼有一距，呈角状向下弯曲，花形似蝴蝶，花色有粉红、大红、紫、白黄、洒金等，善变异。有的品种同一株上能开数种颜色的花朵；凤仙花多单瓣，重瓣的称凤球花。

椭圆形蒴果，有白色茸毛，成熟时弹裂为5个旋卷的果瓣；种子多数，球形，黑色，状似桃形，成熟时外壳自行爆裂，将种子弹出，自播繁殖。

Impatiens balsamina (garden balsam, garden jewelweed, rose balsam, touch-me-not) is a species of Impatiens native to southern Asia in India and Burma. Other common names include ‘elepe in Hawaiian, mírame lindo in Spanish, and kamantigi in Chamorro.

It is an annual plant growing to 20–75 cm tall, with a thick, but soft stem. The leaves are spirally-arranged, 2.5–9 cm long and 1–2.5 cm broad, with a deeply toothed margin. The flowers are red, pink, purple, or white, and 2.5–5 cm diameter; they are pollinated by bees and other insects, and also by nectar-feeding birds. The ripe seed capsules undergo explosive dehiscence.

This is the first flower I ever plant as a little girl. And now our backyard has a few left though I am barely at home. When I first discovered it from my great uncle's backyard and transplanted it to our yard, we never knew it would flourish the next 5 or more years. The thing about this flower is that it would grow by itself and didn't need any care.

晚香玉（学名：Polianthes tuberosa），别名夜來香或月下香，是石蒜科（或龍舌蘭科）晚香玉属的一种多年生球根开花植物。 多年生草本，根状茎块状；线形叶子丛生，先端尖；花茎较长，上部呈总状花序，夏秋开白色花，有浓香味，晚上香味更浓。 晚香玉花在晚上開花，在印度东部地区，被人们称作“Ratkirani”，意思就是“夜晚的女王”。

The tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa) is a perennial plant related to the agaves, extracts of which are used as a middle note in perfumery. The common name derives from the Latin tuberosa, meaning swollen or tuberous in reference to its root system. It consists of about 12 species. Polianthes means "many flowers" in Greek. 

The tuberose is a night-blooming plant thought to be native to Mexico along with every other species of Polianthes. It grows in elongated spikes up to 45 cm (18 in) long that produce clusters of fragrant waxy white flowers that bloom from the bottom towards the top of the spike. It has long, bright green leaves clustered at the base of the plant and smaller, clasping leaves along the stem.  

Members of the closely related genus Manfreda are often called "tuberoses". In the Philippines, the plant is also known as azucena, and while once associated with funerals it is now used in floral arrangements for other occasions.

小时候偶尔听到一首歌叫“夜来香”，那时还不知道就是邓丽君唱的，就觉得夜来香一定是很美很香的花，然后就在家后面发现了一株小苗，不知为什么就单纯地觉得这就是夜来香，于是每天去观察小苗，后来慢慢长大，才发现原来是去年移植的凤仙花长出的新苗。那时还没有网络，不然我能早认识多少花啊！But it turns out the tuberose is very beautiful with strong scent, so I'm right!
